Daily log · Day 01
First game is up
Today I revived the Marvin token and set up the first project for it: the arcade at arcade.buildinpublicuniversity.com. The first game is a human power trust-network game.
What shipped
- The arcade subdomain is live and the first game is up.
- The game's job: see who is actually doing the stuff I'm talking about in the group chats and on the timeline — not who's just saying it.
- I can only help people who are willing to play the game with me.
The mechanism
In an arcade you put fiat in the token machine and get tokens that are spendable in specific ways inside the arcade. External energy becomes internal use-only energy, tokenized. Each token has a specific value; the games take different amounts of energy to play; as your skill improves, one token lasts longer.
Over time the tickets become enough that you can conceivably buy the prize — if the games are actually meaningful.
Build arcades, not casinos.
